Carlo and Michelle Pulixi, chef-owners of Convivium Osteria, opened in November 2000.
Revered as one of the most romantic and authentic restaurants in New York, our cuisine and wine reflect a love for Italian tradition with inspirations from the Iberian peninsula. Convivium combines the old world culinary and aesthetic traditions of Italy with a nod to Spain and Portugal.
Attention to details are important for us, like where our meat and produce come from, the homemade pasta we make daily, the house baked desserts that Michelle prepares. We only use meat from naturally raised animals and we buy our fruit and produce from local organic farmers, whenever possible.
On our menu you will find traditional dishes like Carciofo alla Romana and Gnudi di spinaci with an asigo sauce to satisfy the vegetarian in all of us. Or a grilled baby octopus salad and whole roasted seabass, simple clean dishes made with the best in fresh. Our pan roasted quail with figs and a port wine reduction or our pine nut crusted rack of lamb to satisfy the hearty side in us. Also we present our 48 oz. Painted hills farm ribeye for two, a natural beef presented whole on wooden tablets and sliced table side.
Our three dining rooms transport you from a farmhouse in the Italian countryside, where Carlo is from, to a bodega in Barcelona, to a wine cellar in Oporto. Our extensive wine-list features wine from the regions of Italy, Spain, and Portugal.
We cater private events in both our romantic wine cellar and our spacious backroom.
It is our love for the community, history, food and wine that inspired our ideas for Convivium, a longing for purity and honesty in what we do, what we eat, what we see and how we live.
Come join us.
